Manningtree Town Centre: Public engagement
As part of the project members of the EDI team will be seeking the views of local people to help inform the Design and Development Brief as it is being prepared.
We will be at The Hub drop-in centre, 1 The Lane (just off the High Street), from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday, 27th February. Please drop in to find out more about the project, and to let us know what you like or dislike about Manningtree now and how it could be improved as it changes over coming years. We look forward to possibly meeting you at the event.
The consultation information handed out at the drop-in session is available to download from this web page (see PDF downloads to the right for the questionnaire and sites plan to annotate and return). If you are unable to attend the drop-in session you can still offer your opinions and views on the project, and return the questionnaire and sites plan to the EDI by 26th March 2010 by sending it to:
EDI, Essex County Council, FREEPOST CL289, County Hall, Chelmsford, CM1 1YY
For further information please telephone the EDI on 01245 437162 or email edi@essex.gov.uk
Many thanks for your input to this project.
Project timescales
Analysis of the Manningtree townscape, current land uses and the quality of the public realm (streets, pavements, street furniture and the pedestrain experience) has been ongoing since January 2010. Draft option proposals to be included in the Design and Development Brief documnt are currently being considered in parallel with ongoing public engagement and forthcoming stakeholder consultation. The results of these local engagement sessions will feed into and inform the draft document.
The EDI team will then present draft proposals to Members at Tendring District Council, who commissioned the work, at the end of March 2010 with the final version of the document being prepared in accordance with their feedback, in April 2010.
